Tech Made Simple for Seniors

Hello there!

Welcome to Simplifying Tech For Seniors — where tech support comes with a smile (and probably coffee).

We’re Audrey and Ben — a brother-and-sister duo who never meant to become tech teachers, but life had other plans. Between Audrey coaching our dad (580 miles away!) through social media on Skype and Ben helping our aunt (just 10 miles down the road) install smart home gadgets without launching a full-scale panic… let’s just say, we’ve been there.

What started as a series of “Can you help me with this button?” moments turned into a full-blown mission:
Make technology easier — and dare we say, fun — for seniors and their caregivers.

At STFS, we believe no one should feel left behind in a world moving at lightning speed. Whether you’re a senior trying to FaceTime the grandkids or a caregiver trying to explain why the TV remote now talks back — we’re here for you with step-by-step guidance, a whole lot of patience, and just the right dose of humor.

More than anything, we believe this work is part of our calling — to serve others with kindness, lift them up with encouragement, and help bridge the digital gap with hearts led by faith. As Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us, we trust in the Lord to direct our path… even when that path leads through Wi-Fi settings and iPad updates.

Let’s simplify tech together — one tap, swipe, and “aha!” moment at a time.

What Drives Us

Our dad — the original tech student and forever our biggest cheerleader — is the heartbeat behind STFS. While he’s now cruising Heaven’s highways in his red Mustang convertible (probably with the top down and golden streets gleaming 🙂), his legacy continues to steer everything we do.
His determination to learn, laugh, and stay connected reminds us daily why this mission matters. He showed us that it’s never too late to learn something new — and that love, patience, and faith go a long way in the process.
He may be out of sight, but he’s never out of our purpose.

Meet Audrey (#4 out of 6 in the Ross line-up)

Hi there! I’m Audrey — wife, mom, grandma, and a teacher straight from the heart (with a side of coffee and encouragement).

My journey with technology and seniors started way back in the early 2000s, training residents in assisted living communities how to use computers. That first spark turned into a lifelong passion — helping Seniors and Baby Boomers not only learn technology, but actually enjoy it.

From teaching folks how to post their first Facebook photo to walking them through the maze of modern apps, I realized something important: staying connected shouldn’t be complicated. So I made it my mission to simplify the tech world for the generation that deserves to enjoy it without frustration.

Whether you’re here to FaceTime the grandkids, control your lights with your voice, or just finally figure out what that one button does — I’ve got you covered.

And through it all, I lean on faith, patience, and a whole lot of joy to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered. Because tech may be new, but connection is timeless.

Meet Ben (#6 out of 6 in the Ross line-up)

Hi, I’m Ben — retired Air Force, full-time family man, and accidental tech hero.

Let’s get one thing straight: none of this would be possible without my amazing wife (also my best friend) and our three incredible kids — two of whom are teenagers, which means I’m running on prayer and energy drinks. They’re the heartbeat of everything I do and the reason I wake up each morning with purpose… and sometimes panic.

After 20+ years working on space systems in the U.S. Air Force (yes, actual space), I traded satellites for screen sharing. It all started when my aunt couldn’t figure out her smart TV remote and I somehow became the family tech support. That “aha!” moment showed me how overwhelming technology can be for seniors — and how life-changing it is when someone finally explains it clearly.

So my sister and I joined forces to create Simplifying Tech For Seniors (STFS) — a place where seniors and caregivers get step-by-step tech help without the eye rolls. Now, we’re on a mission to turn confusion into confidence, one button at a time.

If you’re a senior or love someone who is, we’re here to make tech feel less like rocket science… and more like a walk in the park (with Wi-Fi).

In Honor of Our Dad — Ray Ross

Our dad, Ray, is the why behind everything we do here at STFS. He’s the reason we jumped in with both feet to help seniors and their caregivers navigate the ever-changing world of technology — not just to use it, but to truly benefit from it.

In the early days, Dad was our built-in test audience. He watched every video, offered his classic no-nonsense feedback, and helped shape our approach with his honesty, humor, and wisdom. He knew what confused him… and chances are, it’s the same thing that might be confusing you.

And if you’ve seen our logo, you’ve already “met” him — crew cut, glasses, and that unmistakable half-smile. That’s Dad. His face, his legacy, and his heart will forever be part of this mission.

Though he’s now watching from Heaven’s front row (probably with a mug of coffee and a tech tip of his own), his impact lives on — not just in our work, but in every senior who smiles and says, “Hey… I finally get it.”
